Join the steering committee for the “Social and Ecological Security in Education” program!
In the face of ecological and social crises, education must become a lever for resilience. The “Socio-Ecological Security of Education” (SES) programme aims to equip education professionals and civil society actors with the skills to help communities (schools, neighbourhoods, NGOs) navigate shocks without fragmenting.
Why this programme?
Its mission: train people who can protect ecosystems while strengthening social cohesion, bridging ecological transition and social inclusion. Here, “security” means the collective capacity to anticipate, absorb and transform crises together.
Target audiences
- NGO and association staff engaged in the transition
- Primary and secondary school teachers, educators and trainers
- Local authority staff
- Researchers in education or the transition
- Committed citizens
Objectives
- Develop concrete skills in active pedagogy, facilitation and project management
- Validate experience with certifying digital badges
- Connect organisations across regions (North–South, NGOs, schools, municipalities)
- Strengthen the resilience of the educational system in the face of tomorrow’s challenges
Call for participation: SES Education steering committee
Äerdschëff is looking for individuals and organisations ready to co-create an autonomous, certifying and cross-organisational peer-learning network capable of offering continuing, translocal, transdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral education:
- Continuing: The training will span several years (2025–2027), allowing for progressive learning and long-term support—moving away from one-off workshops.
- Translocal: The programme will connect diverse local actors and contexts (in Luxembourg and partner countries), encouraging mutual knowledge exchange between regions.
- Transdisciplinary: It will break down disciplinary silos to address the complexity of the real world—e.g. by linking ecology, social sciences, shared governance, non-violent communication (NVC), and pedagogy.
- Cross-sectoral: The platform is designed for a diverse audience, bridging formal, informal, and non-formal education (NGOs, local authorities, communities, etc.).
Join the SES of Education steering committee
