Forum theater training
subjects:
Dare to use forum theatre to bring climate and social issues to life: in just two days, experiment with immersive techniques to turn spectators into actors of concrete solutions.
Experience playful and impactful techniques to spark dialogue. Step by step, learn how to stage a community issue and invite the public to intervene and search for solutions. The process concludes with planning the post-performance phase to turn ideas into real-world actions.
Why is this important?
- Collective expression: a safe space where everyone can voice concerns and perspectives on ecological or social crises
- Creative tools: participatory theatre techniques stimulate empathy and critical thinking, bringing out new ideas through dramatic play
- Audience empowerment: turns spectators into changemakers, encouraging them to propose and test solutions
- From debate to action: ensures follow-up so that discussions become real projects involving the community
By the end, you will be able to:
- Explain the principles of forum theatre (or community theatre) and its relevance for addressing socio-ecological issues with a group
- Use basic tools of forum theatre and understand the role of the “bifurcation joker”
- Design and lead a forum theatre session tailored to your context
- Facilitate the post-performance debate
