Is building our intermediate light vehicles locally just a pipe dream?

What if the future of mobility was built here, with us?

In Luxembourg, the car still largely structures our daily commutes. This dependence weighs heavily on the climate, our budgets, and the organization of our territories.

In this context, intermediate light vehicles (VLI) are opening a new path. More fuel-efficient, accessible, and repairable locally, they represent a concrete alternative for many journeys. But a crucial question remains: can we truly design and produce them locally?

A space to collectively explore a concrete question

This Experts-Citizens Forum is designed as an opportunity for residents, experts, institutions, and local stakeholders to meet. The goal is not simply to exchange ideas, but to test them against real-world situations and develop concrete solutions for Luxembourg.

This format is part of a broader citizen research and experimentation initiative led by Äerdschëff, where solutions are developed gradually, based on real needs and lived experiences.

A dynamic approach: forum theatre

At the heart of the evening, the dialogue will take a unique form through forum theatre. A real-life scenario will be acted out to illustrate current obstacles related to mobility.

Then, the audience will be invited to participate directly. They will be able to propose alternative choices, experiment with different approaches, and test solutions in real time. This format transforms the debate into a live experience, where everyone can become an agent of change.

This approach allows us to move beyond theoretical discussions to a concrete understanding of the challenges, constraints, and levers for action.

Ideas that can become projects

This forum is not an end in itself. It is a step in a broader process aimed at fostering local initiatives around sustainable mobility. The avenues explored could inform pilot projects, experiments or collaborations between citizens, municipalities and partners.
