Regenerating the future through poetry
What if poetry could be used to imagine new futures? This educational program invites students to write, illustrate, and share a bilingual (FR/DE) poetry collection on the themes of ecological and social transition. The project combines languages, history, and visual arts, based on a collaborative approach. Each participant becomes an author, artist, and citizen by exploring their emotions about the future and contributing to a collective narrative of a regenerative future for Luxembourg.
Why is this important?
Poetry becomes a tool for civic and creative education, connecting memory and the future. It promotes interdisciplinary motivation and develops critical, linguistic, and artistic skills. This project gives students the opportunity to transform their emotions and reflections into concrete creations, shared with their school community and beyond.
By the end, you will know how to:
- Write and recite different types of poems (slam, haiku, free verse).
- Connect current crises to Luxembourg’s history in order to imagine desirable futures.
- How to illustrate and layout a bilingual collective anthology.
- How to present a poetic performance in public (slam stage, exhibition, digital broadcast).
