Rob Hopkins’ inspiring talk (Transition Towns) reminded us of something essential: the ecological transition is not just about technology or legislation—it’s first and foremost a journey of collective imagination.
His fictional voyage to 2030—where depaved streets meet urban gardens and forest schools—deeply resonated with us at Äerdschëff asbl.

Next step

We’re about to launch the first round of workshops.

What if we regenerate the future?

What we’re taking away

  • “Yes, and…”: replacing the paralyzing “Yes, but…” with a “Yes, and…” that opens up new possibilities.

  • Fragments of the future are already here—our mission is to connect them, amplify them, and make them visible.
This has led to the launch of our new programme: “What if we regenerate the future?”

  • A series of forum theatre workshops guided by facilitators trained in the Boal method

  • Participants (teens, parents, seniors, newcomers…) transform eco-anxiety into living scenes: reviving a dry river, hacking an energy co-op, reinventing local governance…

  • Every scene tested on stage turns directly into real-world action: seed-swap days, repair cafés, sociocratic circles, and more.

Why this matters

Because collective imagination fuels real change.
Because no policy thrives without a story to believe in.
Because, as Rob Hopkins says:

“Every powerful action begins with a single act of imagination.”
