What is a
light intermediate vehicle?

A light intermediate vehicle explores the space between the bicycle and the car. The aim is to match transport to actual needs, available resources and local areas.

Why did we choose the Karbikes?

We chose the Karbikes KOZI to begin our exploratory phase: its availability, assistance when carrying loads or riding on hills, and scope for adaptation and maintenance allow us to test real uses with residents and local services. The manufacturer’s proximity in Strasbourg also makes exchanges easier.

With MOBILAB, we test the Karbike through a low-tech approach: start from real needs, examine resource use, repairability and maintenance requirements, then compare it with walking, cycling and public transport. The findings may lead us to adapt the vehicle or choose other mobility options.
